Constellation is an independent British womenswear brand.
Our story begins with our founder, Leila and her love for colourful, feel good fashion. When Leila wanted to fill her shop with unique & uplifting pieces, she struggled to find what she was looking for... so Leila was inspired to create her very own collection.
2014 | our beginnings
After featuring on a BBC interiors series, Leila established Belle Modelle as an online interiors & home decor business, operating from a small studio & show room.
2016 saw the the introduction of women's fashion, meaning she soon outgrew this space. Leila then expanded into a highstreet shop in Beaminster, Dorset.
2018 | BM moves to Brewery Square, Dorchester
With the Beaminster store being a huge success, Leila was invited to open a pop up store at Brewery Square, Dorchester. After 12 months, Belle Modelle became a permanent addition and a year later we had moved to an even bigger store in the square.
2020 | Online sales go from strength to strength
When the highstreet lock-downs were enforced during the COVID-19 pandemic, our online sales grew at an exceptional rate. We opened a new warehouse & employed more staff to ensure we were able to maintain our excellent levels of customer service.
2021 | launch of our first knitwear collection
Leila's dream of designing her own range comes true with the launch of our first Autumn Winter collection, including the sell out Knit 21.
2022 | brewery square store re-fit
Leila designed and co-ordinated an expansion & re-fit at our Brewery Square store.
2023 | launch of constellation
2023 marked the launch of Constellation. After the success of Knit 21 Leila was keen to expand her designs into a vibrant collection of womenswear, having also become frustrated with the lack of colour available from suppliers, Leila pursued her dream of designing her very own collection. Our first Spring Summer launch featured bright & bold pieces, designed to mix & match.
2024 | constellation pop-up store opens in bath
Our very first Constellation store opens as a pop-up on New Bond Street, Bath. Filled with our own Constellation clothing collection as well as other womenswear brands and a selection of homeware, gifts & accessories, carefully selected to compliment the Constellation brand.
